Here at The Urban Farm we're promoting composting in Maroochydore.
We're diverting food scraps away from landfill and into our hot-composting system. Food scraps in landfill creates methane gas which is harmful to the atmosphere, whereas composted food transforms into Black Gold, a top quality compost soil to feed plants. Come down and speak to our staff to learn more or if you have any questions.

Our goal at the Urban Farm is to make a full-loop food/waste system:
Fresh produce >> dining table >> waste >> compost >> soil >> back to fresh produce again.
We want to have a full loop food/waste system with you too!
When you drop off food waste you have the opportunity to pick out and purchase some of our delicious seasonal produce at the same time. All proceeds go toward supporting the community through the Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre. Makes sense!
